Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Tara Plank, founder of ALIGN Movement Therapy.  I’m a licensed physical therapist assistant, doctor of physical therapy student and a 200-hour certified LYT Yoga instructor, currently working toward my 500-hour certification.

Movement has always been important to me.  Early on I swam and played soccer, basketball and softball.  As an adult, I’ve dabbled in triathlon, disc golf, kayaking and began a personal yoga practice.  In 2022, I found the LYT Method of yoga, which has allowed me to swim without shoulder pain.  LYT has given me the confidence to practice yoga without the fear of injury and I’m thrilled with the carryover into fitness and daily activities.

As I age, or “collect time under the force of gravity,” I’m aware of increased musculoskeletal compensations in my body due to past injuries.  I love using movement to explore these issues, aches and pains.  I believe movement is medicine, and by moving in a variety of ways we can decrease, and even eliminate, postural imbalances to live well now and as we age.  My motivation comes by asking, “How does my 70-, 80- and 90-year-old self want to move?  How can I begin training and preparing for her now?”

Movement is medicine.  Move better. Feel stronger.
